Vastu refers to a building whether it is a massive structure or a small house. Vastu Shastra is the science of building construction. Buildings are combination of five elements like a human body is. The potent energy of the Panchtatva (Five Elements) within the building directly influences its inhabitants, in accordance with the dynamics of the living space.

The potent energy of these five elements directly affects human beings. Consider, for instance, a man who owns two factories: One yields a profit, while the other runs at a loss. Since the individual is the same and according to astrology that person is currently in a favorable phase. Then why does one factory incur losses. The lies in VASTU DOSH (Architectural or Spatial defects). The factory suffering losses is afflicted by VASTU DOSH. The blueprints that architects create in the name of architecture may look beautiful for a while but they do not follow the rules of vastu. Therefore most house are vastu deficient and after 21 months, in such a building, financial, health and problems have to be faced.

Importance of Placement

In a building, according to the principles of Vastu Shastra, the position of the main door, the bedroom, kitchen, prayer room, water tank, water bore, bathroom, toilet, sewer, …are taken into consideration. Furthermore, the placement, direction and decoration of household items should also be in accordance with vastu principles. A house or any building built according to vastu principles is so strong that it is not affected by even major earthquakes. If your house is Vastu based but there are vastu defects in the internal arrangements it can cause many problems in your life. For example, in a well settled vastu house if you keep head in north at the time of sleeping then you could face headache or BP problems. The energy emanating from the corners of a house has a direct impact on its inhabitants. If useful items within the house are not organized properly, the energy losses its direction, resulting in a negative effects on the people living there.

In modern era, the construction of houses based on Vastu Shastra has all but vanished. This is why we see so many people today suffering from various problems and ailments. We are even hearing about entirely new types of illnesses, a phenomenon bizarre designs of modern homes. You might not even imagine that many issues such as the inability to marry, childlessness, a person going missing, premature delivery or business losses which you often resign yourself to as one of the consequences of past lives or karma, could actually stem from vastu defects. By rectifying these defects you can find relief from such problems.

Dwellings with entrance in the North East corner are inhabited by divine beings (Devtas) where those with the entrances in this South West corner are inhabited by Demons (Danavas).
